Our Story. . .
Discerning | 2018-2020
Several parishioners of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Chapel Hill and many local to Mebane/Hillsborough gathered as a small group, already wondering what God might be up to.
In the summer of 2020, during the height of the pandemic, Rev. Josh Barfield, who was then serving at Holy Trinity, held two worship services in the backyard of two members of the small group to continue caring for, connecting, and bringing together those dreaming of a new church in Mebane.
Preparing | 2023
After gauging interest in “Come-and-See” worship services at the Mebane Arts and Community Center in early 2023, a new small group formed from Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Chapel Hill, joined by others from All Saints Durham, and discerned that God was calling us to plant a new expression of the Anglican church in the Mebane area. With renewed calling and passion, we spend that summer and fall praying and preparing, meeting weekly for formation and shared meals.
Planting | Easter 2024 - Present
On March 31, 2024, Easter Sunday, Bishop Steve Breedlove commissioned us at our mother church, Holy Trinity Chapel Hill. The whole church gathered to pray and send off our group.
We began weekly worship on April 7, 2024, at the White House on Washington St, hoping to gather new members for fellowship and humble worship. Help us continue our mission to seek new life for the sake of Jesus in the Mebane area.
