Our Pastor
Rev. Josh Barfield | Pastor and Planter
I grew up in Eastern, NC, and have called the Triangle/Triad home for the last 12 years. I love hosting at my home, cooking BBQ, hanging at the local brewery, watching movies, and caring for others. Camille and I have two children - Asa and Cece.
After seminary at Duke Divinity School, I’ve spent time in ministry in both the church and the world. I worked in non-profit housing rehab, completed a chaplaincy residency in mental health and hospital care at WakeMed in Raleigh, NC, and worshipped and worked for eight good years as a member and curate (priest in training) at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Chapel Hill.
I come to church planting with a heart for pastoral presence and a desire to encourage God’s people through God’s word and invitation to the table.
Our Leadership Team
Our Vestry, led by our Pastor, is the governing body of Resurrection. The Vestry is comprised of members of our congregation that demonstrate Christlike leadership and are invested (hence “Vestry”) with the care of the church. They support our pastor in advancing the church's mission and help plan its future. The Vestry mainly handles:
Finance: They manage the church's accounts, budget, and employee pay and benefits, ensuring accountability according to the Diocese's financial guidelines.
Facility: They make sure the church has space suitable for its work and is properly insured and inventoried.
