The Greatest Sermon Ever Preached
In Matthew chapters 5-7, Jesus lays out his upside-down Kingdom, where the life of heaven, where God reigns as King, will become the life of the earth for all those who follow him. As N.T. Wright says, “The Sermon on the Mount is the summons to live in the present in a way that will make sense of God’s promised future; because the future has arrived in the present in Jesus of Nazareth.
On Sundays during the Season of Epiphany, we’ll be walking through Jesus’ instruction on how we are to live as Christians. In Matthew chapters 5-7, Jesus instructs on the shape of Christian life, how to live in holy relationships with others, and details how we might flourish in God’s Kingdom on earth.
